- The problem of soil erosion is serious in south China, its significance however is not fully recognized by the public as well as the decision makers in Hong Kong. A brief introduction to the physical environment of Hong Kong is given, and then patterns and characteristics of soil erosion in various land uses are detailed in order to portray a comprehensive picture of soil erosion in Hong Kong.
