Based on investigation and analysis,and a series of geological disasters occurred in the process of rapid development of large medium sized cities in China,the effect of urban geological disasters on urban development is analyzed using natural science and social science theories simultaneously.Hence,according to the actual situation of Chinese urban development and the goal in the 21st century,few countermeasures for controlling urban disasters and management measures suitable to local situation are presented.
