- Abstract:
- Dongting basin was shaped not only by tectonic movement but also by potamic and anthropogenic influence.Lake Dongting’s evolution can be fallen into two successive phases:natural evolution before Holocene and the later evolution phase effected by both natural and human activity.The research showed that dike building along the northern bank of Yangtze River and cultivation in Lake Dongting area has caused increasing of frequency and intensity of flood disasters in Lake Dongting area.
