- Abstract:

The distribution of soil moisture,its compensation ability and dynamics in season in soil profile of €m., as well as, the influence of the exposure and position of slope on soil moisture and its restoring ability in cut-over land were studied in plantation of P. tabulaeformis at the age of 25¡«28. The results of the studies indicated that the soil moisture content in the plantation varied usually from 9% to 11% in all profiles,that is lower than stable humidity. The compensation depth of soil moisture in the end of raining sea-son reached 1¡«2m.The soil moisture content in the layer of intensive utilization fluctuated from 13.5% to 26.5%, in utilization layer, on an average, 10.0%¡«15.0%,and in the layer of adjustment for supplement it was mainly stable, the annual amplitude was only 9%¡«10%. The restoring ability of soil moisture in the cutover land of P.tabulaeformis plantation was great,the soil moisture might be restored to the depth of 2.8m the same year and of 4.0m in 3 years, where the soil moisture content reached 13.0%¡«18.0%.
