Land-cover change detection is extremely important for researching global change.Remote sensing is primary technology used for change detection. In recent decades, many change detection methods have been developed.Previous researches have shown that each method has its own merits. In practice, different algorithms are often compared to find the best change detection results for a specific application and it involves many factors. The purpose of the review paper, which comprehensive exploration of all the major contents in the land-cover change detection based on remote sensing technology such as data preprocessing, major change detection methods, threshold problem, change type determining and accuracy assessment,is to promote the research of land-cover change detection.
